ASBMF - Spring Pastels

I've started a new Spring themed challenge created by the Lovely Hannah over at Polished Prisms. It's called April Showers Bring May Flowers, this challenge isn't like others, there are 14 different themes, and it do at your own pace. So I think I can do this. I read through all the themes and really like them, so it might take a little while to complete but that is kind of the point to take it into May right.

On to Number One my Spring Pastels Mani (which inevitably was also my Easter Mani wore like iron for days, considering I was sick again from Fri til Mon- Tues-ish I was wearing this until tuesday night and it still never chipped that was like 5 days or so. Normally I wouldn't leave it on so long but when I'm sick I can barely function let alone make my nails all pretty. Ok enough talk on to the nails... I took the idea PastelS and ran with it... 

 If you look closely you can see the Silver stamping under the White stamping, and maybe can see just a hint of shimmer over all the colors. That was my initial idea I had planned on leaving it at that, well until I saw it and just hated it at that point. I had topcoated and everything. Of course it had taken awhile to get all the colors on there, Pastels when sponged on need a couple of coats even with a base color. So instead of just leaving it alone and hating it, I decided to try to add to it I've seen a few other Bloggers do this stamping layer to create some really pretty looks. So I figured why not I couldn't make it any worse. 

Fortunately I love the outcome, I think it came out so cool, I got a ton of compliments on this mani and that always make me feel good when people notice. 

All together I used a bunch of polished I'm just going to list them below  

Base Coat - Sally Hansen- Hard as Wraps 

Base Color- Sally Hansnen Sheer Vanilla (maybe white would of been a better choice but I thought I'd try this one, and actually likes how it wasn't so stark under the other colors.)

Pastels- In no particular order

Kleancolor- Pastel Teal 

Kleancolor- Pastel Orange 

China Glaze- Lemon Fizz60, 

Sally Hansen- Mint Sorbet

Sally Hansen- Lacey Lilac

Confetti- Tiara (the shimmer over the initial stamping)

Stamping- 

Wet n Wild- Metallica 

Spoiled by Wet n Wild- Correction Tape (it has become my go- to white for any nail art.) 

Wet n Wild- Black Creme 

Everything topped off with Seche Vite of course 

Stamping plates- MASH- m60 & m57, Bundler Monster- BM-201

 I hope you all enjoy these as much as I did. It was fun to create, and definitely fun to wear.

  

A Gold Duck w/ a Tiara on Top...

So yesterday I sat down to do my nails and I had no idea what I wanted to do, over 500 polishes, and still I just had no idea what I wanted to put on my nails. I even looked at my Pinterest Nails board to see if there was some design that I wanted to try. Well after awhile looking at Pinterest I gave up on that idea. Ugh I hate this feeling, and then I think about how many polishes I have and cannot believe that I really can't decide.

And finally I decided what to do, I was going to do, and then became a huge fail because of the colors I chose. I was going to do a gradient using green, pink then purple. Well After painting all my nails green and trying to start the gradient with the pink, it just wasnt working the pink was not opaque enough to  go over the green.

So I ditched that idea and went for just stamping on top of the green and adding sparkles, because well I do love anything that sparkles. And here is the final result...

Base coat

Orly- Lucky Duck

Stamped with Nina Ultra Pro- Molten Gold

then topped with Confetti- Tiara

and Seche Vite

IRL this is really subtle but I actually really like it now. Although my pictures do make this polish look darker than it actually is.

This is Confetti After Party with Pro 10 Old Hollywood stamped on top. This mani wore very well, I had this on for like 4 days without any chips, only had minor tip wear.

Attempt at Half Moon...

...And when I say Attempt I mean it, this so did not come out as I thought it would. I was debating weather or not to even take pics, earlier today I was dead set on not even taking pics didn't want to see it again LOL. But in the end I decided to take my pics and just put in on here, why not? Sometimes things don't work and that's ok.

Ok so this started our as being a half moon mani, but when I taped off my cuticles I put them too far on the nail, so it ended up looking like some weird in-between of a half moon and a french manicure. Which makes for this weird looking mani, For about the first hour after I finished I thought I might like it, but as the day went on I realized it's just not working out, My boyfriend even tried to say it looked good-ish, but I could tell he was only trying to make me feel better about it hehe, even he could tell how awful it turned out. Eh maybe someone will like this and want to try it, just a note it might of worked better on longer nails, note to self do not chop off nails right before trying something new...

2 coats Confetti Moonstruck 

then 2 coats Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter

1 coat of Seche Vite, 

And after all that I started to think dont want this shiny, So I added a coat of China Glaze matte top coat.

And this is what I was left with, lol yes that does not only seem like a lot of polish for one manicure it even looks kinda thick ugh live and learn eh. Oh well no biggie now I know.

I will have to definitely try the half moon again and try to get it right.

oh yea, and the first pic is super clear shows my nails all chopped off (they were bugging me last night), but the second pic is way more true to color but a little blurry so I included both.
