First Vday mani

I've been totally neglecting my blog these past couple months, I really do need to keep up I'm still keeping up  with my nails and taking pictures most of the time. Just when it comes down to it to actually edit my pics and post them I have been majorly slacking. Anyway enough about that, here is my first Valentine's mani of the year.

Used:
Zoya- Storm (black)
Zoya- Renee (pinkish red) Also on a side note I only bought for the name since thats my middle name but really love the color.
Urban Outfitters- Pink Holo
All topped with Seche Vite

Stamping colors are the same as the base colors with the exception of the lips I used Sally Hansen Chrome nail Makeup in Tourmaline Chrome, omg I love these ones I have like 4 of these Chrome nail makeups, I've had them for like 8 or 10 years, something crazy like that and they are just so awesome at stamping I'm going to seriously cry when they are empty. Oh well for now I have them and will continue to love them.

This is just a design I came up with after failed half moon using Chine Glaze Grape Juice, so pretty but not the best formula.

World Diabetes Day

November is Diabetes awareness month, and today November 14th is world diabetes day. I never even knew there was an awareness month for Diabetes let alone a day. To learn more here is the link to the official page. They encourage people to wear blue today. I saw a post about a week about from Nailderella's facebook page, talking about today and wanting to get some bloggers to wear a blue mani, there is a link to all the bloggers who have participated at the bottom. I of course wanted to join in, for my boyfriend of about 2 1/2 years now. I really never knew much about the disease until I met him, although he did not even know about today. Which I'm going to take means that there are not enough people talking about it or or are aware of how serious it is. Any onto my manicure for today.

Used:
Base Coat
Pure Ice: Scream 2 coats
Accent Nail:
Icing- Glitz & Glam 1 coat

Day 11- Polka Dots

I wasn't quite ready to take off my franken yet, so I just added my polka dots, for this I didn't really plan anything just grabbed some neon colors and started dotting.

Please forgive the huge black smudge on my thumb, Lol I had no idea it was there till after taking my photos. I was recreating my Black & White Nails on my mother's nails, and well I must of got the black polish on me, oh well not much to do about it now.

Used:
Base coat of Elmer's Glue
3 thick coats of my polish
Used a Dotting tool and
Color Club-
Wham! Pow!
Warhol
Chelsea Girl
and Nina Ultra Pro-
Lime Light

This was quick and easy I used a small dotting tool, and just kind of stippled them on, starting from the cuticle up.

Frankening a Dupe

I had wanted to try to make a dupe for Butter London's The Black Knight for awhile now. Now I would of loved to just go out and buy the set last year. When I first saw swatches I knew I wanted it but of course I also knew it wasn't going to happen. I simply couldn't afford it. I figured I could franken a dupe like many others it didn't look too difficult, But I soon forgot all about that idea until yesterday. I remembered this post from Chalkboard Nails with two different recipes.

I did this a little different then those two. Actually I kind of combined the recipes.
What I used:
Sinful Colors Frenzy (poured out about 1/3 of the bottle)
Wet N Wild Sparked (only filling the bottle of frenzy until it was 3/4 full
Then added Pure Ice Black (sorry don't know the name the label fell off of my bottle a long time ago)
And the just shake it up until your arms just about fall off. Thats is your done.

I'm really happy with how it turned out. I have found another recipe to dupe The Black Knight, using Sally Hansen's Rockstar Pink, since it actually has all the same colored glitter in it as TBK. I have a bottle of this and actually a Wet N Wild one that is the same glitter Sorry not near it but its from the old Craze line they had. Just the glitter and add some black and thats it your done. I'll be trying this one soon.  Here is the post I found mentioning using this glitter.

Ok enough talk on to the pictures:

Used:
Base Coat of Elmer's Glue (no way was I going to try removing this normal)
My Fanken- 3 thick coats ( I haven't named this yet hmm I'll come up with something)
Gealous- 1 coat
and Topped with Seche Vite
