World Diabetes Day

November is Diabetes awareness month, and today November 14th is world diabetes day. I never even knew there was an awareness month for Diabetes let alone a day. To learn more here is the link to the official page. They encourage people to wear blue today. I saw a post about a week about from Nailderella's facebook page, talking about today and wanting to get some bloggers to wear a blue mani, there is a link to all the bloggers who have participated at the bottom. I of course wanted to join in, for my boyfriend of about 2 1/2 years now. I really never knew much about the disease until I met him, although he did not even know about today. Which I'm going to take means that there are not enough people talking about it or or are aware of how serious it is. Any onto my manicure for today.

Used:
Base Coat
Pure Ice: Scream 2 coats

Fourth of July

I have seen so many awesome 4th manis this morning, I had originally wanted to do something more elaborate but ran out of time so I just went with simple but eye catching. A few weeks ago my BF bought me Icing's Patriotic Princess, and I just knew I had to use it. So without further ado here it is...

Used:
Base Coat- Orly Nail armor
Finger Paints- Curator's Crimson 2 coats
NYC- Little Italy 3 coats
Color Club- Trippie Hippie 2 coats
Icing- Patriotic Princess
All topped with Seche Vite and Gelous

Patriotic Princess is a pain to work with I had to sort of glob it on and fish out the stars them glob them on. The base in this polish is super thick and was starting to get all goopy as I was applying it. On another note after applying 2 coats of top coat it seemed everything was fine well after wearing this for a day the stars were starting to poke through. So my options were pretty slim considering I wanted to leave this on for today and all. So I went to town with some Gelous and Topcoat. First I applied a thick coat of Gelous, some nails needed 2 coats, then a thick coat of Seche Vite. So hopefully I don't have any more stars poking up.
That's all for now... Have a happy and safe fourth!

Rainbow Favorites Challenge #2- Orange

For today I went with an Untried Orange. So not a favorite at all really but oh well works anyway...

Used:
Base Coat
Opi- Y'all Coma Back Ya Hear? 2 coats
China Glaze- Luxe and Lush 1 coat
Ring fingers- Icing- Tell Me I'm Awesome
Then one more thick coat of Y'all Come Back Ya Hear?
all topped with Seche Vite.

I was a little worried that this wouldn't dry it was so thick, the top was dry pretty quick due to the Seche Vite but under neath was still squishy. By the next morning it was good to go though. And no sheet marks or anything yay.

Don't forget to check out the other's Favorites:

ASBMF- Spring Design of Your Choice

Here is the Last post in the April Showers Bring May Flowers challenge, I may have been a little longer but I finished it yay.

For my design I went with some neon gradients in all colors of the Color Club Electro Candy collection. With a little something on top... Onto the pictures

Used:
Base Coat
Base Color- Ulta - Set The Nude
Gradient Color-
Color Club-
Electro Candy
Tangerine Scream
Volt of Light
What a Shock!
Pure Energy
Ultra Violet

Glitter-
Icing- Shredded
Savvy- Touch of Glitter

I started with a nude base color then just sponged on top of that. Using little pieces of make up sponge.
after that I added a coat of Savvy- Touch of Glitter, A holo glitter
And on top of that was Icing- Shredded. This polish is really awesome I love the look of the black shards all over. It was pretty easy to apply, the problems came when I was trying to get it to be smooth. I added 2 coats of top coat right away. Then the next day added more top coat, I had piece poking up at the corners of the shards. No matter how much top coat I added it would not cover it smoothly. So I eventually gave up and just left it bumpy, Even in the pictures you can see where it lays into the topcoat not under it.

I do really like Shredded and will use it again, (I really want to make mint chip nails), Just not sure what to do to cover it completely.

Pictures are pretty color accurate, the only color that looks a big different is Tangerine Scream, it looks more Coral than orange, but I think that has to do with the nude base not the camera. Since it looked that way in the sun and in every other lighting.

Rainbows...

Yesterday I posted my least favorite polish... Instead of just changing it right away, I added some pretties, well a lot of pretties actually. I figured since I had been wanting to try this look and i already had white on my nails why not? Just a not I did go a little crazy with the pictures, as in I took alot of pictures but I had fun hehe. Without further ado...
So I used a bunch of polish, below is a pic but I'll list them too:
Base color is of course Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White on
Red: Icing- Flamingo Dancer
Orange: Color club- Wham! Pow!
Yellow: Color club- Almost Famous
Green: Nina Ultra Pro- Lime Light
Blue: Color Club- Chelsea Girl
Purple: China Glaze- Flying Dragon(Neon)

Stamping: plate - M78 (mash set) in Wet N Wild Black Creme
Glitter: Ulta- Glitter Top Coat (I love the crappy name for this polish BTW)
and topped with Seche Vite

Ah- hem pls excuse the mess behind my polishes, I sat on floor in front of the coffee table, Catching up with  the show Dexter. Which is so awesome I actaully stopped watching it in the beginning of  season 4 but this season (6) looks so good, now I have to catch up. So I downloaded all of season 5 to our DVD gotta love VOD right, and getting season 4 disc by disc, just finished the 2nd disc and waiting on number 3. Yay.

Ok you don't want to hear anymore about my tv habits I'll leave you with the rest of my pics to look at... Enjoy ...

I know these are not perfect, but I am super happy with it. Turned out better than I had pictured in my head. I like the idea of posting my challenge nails, then adding something to them. I can't say if I'll do it with every challenge mani, But it sure seems like I will most of the time. I dunno yet we'll see.

I do plan on leaving these on my nails for as long as I can stand it, which may be anywhere from 3-6 days. so as long as i don't get any chips I'll leave them, Lets hope I don't knock my hand into something... knowing me thought I'll just be itching for a change before it chips.
