Black Satin + Flackies

I've been gone a little while. The day after my last post my Grandmother or "Grams" as we all called her passed away. I still cannot believe she is gone. I really don't know what else to say, she was there for us when we needed her, and I will always miss her. I love you Grams

We don't live close, it's a 16 hour drive to Ca where she lived. So we got our stuff together and headed out to see family and remember her. Since coming home I just didn't want to think about any of it. And honestly didn't know what to say. So here I am writing a short post that is taking me what seems like forever. Because nothing I type seems right, so I'm just going to leave you with this, and some pictures that I took over a week ago.

Used:
Base Coat
Rimmel- Black Satin (I love this black) 2 coats
Finger Paints- Twisted 1 coat
Topped with Seche Vite

Non- Zebra

I had wanted to do animal print nails, and had actually want them to be like the actual animal well the idea was good, but didn't last long, I soon wanted something bright and different haha.

Used:
Base Coat
Sally Hansen- Fairy Teal 1 coat
China Glaze- Watermelon Rind 1 coat
Milani- Blue Lightening Sponged on
Finger Paints-  Motley 1 coat
Stamped Using- BM-223
In Pure Ice- Silver Mercedes

I see now that I should done more a peacock theme stamp since my colors were already there. But of course I didn't really see that until after I had stamped eh oh well still looks nice this way.

I was super excited to see that Fairy Teal is the perfect base color for Watermelon Rind, I love the color but hate that it's sheer and needs multiple coats for full opacity, I'm really terrible hate doing more than 2 coats 3 is usually my limit. Sheer polishes are just awful I usually don't have patience for them. So am always looking for good layering colors.

Also not nail related in any way, went to Zoo Music  on Friday, which is super fun anyway walking around the zoo in the evening is really fun. They always have peacocks walking around and that night the male seemed to be chowing off. All open and just beautiful, I had to take some pictures...

Definitely click to zoom to see all detail.

Rainbow Favorites Challenge #2- Orange

For today I went with an Untried Orange. So not a favorite at all really but oh well works anyway...

Used:
Base Coat
Opi- Y'all Coma Back Ya Hear? 2 coats
China Glaze- Luxe and Lush 1 coat
Ring fingers- Icing- Tell Me I'm Awesome
Then one more thick coat of Y'all Come Back Ya Hear?
all topped with Seche Vite.

I was a little worried that this wouldn't dry it was so thick, the top was dry pretty quick due to the Seche Vite but under neath was still squishy. By the next morning it was good to go though. And no sheet marks or anything yay.

Don't forget to check out the other's Favorites:

ASBMF- May Flowers

When I sat down to do this mani I did not have a plan after my failed attempt at trying this design by Sarah over at Chalkboard Nails, hers turned out really pretty and just awesome. Well my attempt was well awful. I  didn't even keep them on for 24 hours, and the more I looked at them the more I hated it. I will definitelybe trying again but not just yet.

Anyway onto what I actually did, like I said before I did not plan anything didn't even know if I was going to try flowers or just a plain color. So I dug around a bit and came up with an idea, Blue and different flakies well what could be better...
Until I added the flowers and the glitter then it made even better... Lol I was really happy with how this turned out, I even patched a chip and I never do that ever once it chips it's time for a new mani. but since the chip was due to my awful thin nail only the day after doing these, I just had too. Bet you can't tell which one is patched.
ok on to the many Pictures I have here, also I took so many more I went through and weeded them out still had alot though, oh well.

Used:
Base Coat of Orly Nail Armor
with Sally Hansen Powerful Acrylic Gel on select nails
Base Color: China Glaze- Blue Year's Eve
With Finger Paints- Flashy and Flecked layered on top
Revlon- Runway Pearl for the flower and
Color Club- Sugar Plum Fairy for the flower middles.

I took some pictures at weird angles to show all the different colors from the flakies and of course Runway pearl.

ASBMF- #4 April Showers...

For this mani I knew what I wanted to do, just wasn't sure of how to achieve the look I was going for. After a few days of not having time and thinking it over I finally had the time to sit down and carry out my plan. I ended up using the water color technique. If you don't know the technique or how to do it, check out this post from Rebecca at Rebecca Likes nails, she explains it way better than I could. And is just awesome all together.

So the idea was to make my nails storm clouds, with water drops like from a car window. So not sure if it worked entirely but I'm happy with it.

Used:
Base Coat
Base color: Sally Hansen- Wet Cement
Other colors: in order
Sally Hansen- Barracuda
Opi- Suzi takes the wheel
Wet N Wild- Black Creme
Opi- Skull And Glossbones
all topped with Sally Hansen Glass Slipper
Then topped with China Glaze Matte Magic
Then added randon dots and lines in Opi Topcoat. (not sure if its real visible in the photos, honestly it's hardly visible to me and I know it's there.)

Below is Wet Cement with topcoat in natural sunlight, also the other pics in sunlight were taken right after I was done, my hands were a mess, and I even tried to clean up, well I use tried a bit loosely I gave up pretty quick figured I'd pick it all off later.

Next Pictures are in artificial light
