"This Is Halloween" Nail Art Challenge

I have not finished the 31 Day Challenge yet, I am just taking a break from it to do this Halloween Challenge. I knew a few months ago that I wanted to do Halloween inspired manis all of October, so when I saw this challenge I just knew it was perfect.

This was set up by Bec at Lacquer Dreams, there will be links to everone participating at the bottom of this post.

Now onto my mani for today, "Horror Movies", well actually this one gave me some trouble, I know first day and already giving me trouble lol, that's ok. The reason is I don't like horror movie and just don't watch them. I had no idea what to do. So I asked my Boyfriend for some help, well more like told him he was helping me come up with something, he didn't mind though he like horrors and actually would like me to watch them to watch with him, but not going to happen I can't they scare me too much and just no. Lol sorry Mister.

After some talking about it and some googling of movie posters and horror movies in general. I kind of gave up on finding one that I wanted to chose. So I went a little generic, and when I say a little I mean totally generic. in horror movies, from what I know, people are usually being killed in some gory way like stabbed or something, so I went with blood splatter. There is always some kind of blood splatter on the walls or somewhere right?

I had wanted to do a splatter mani for awhile now, not sure why I didn't try before, for my first time it wasn't too bad. I didn't tape off my fingers I figured I was only using one color that cleanup wouldn't be that bad, and it wasn't except for the part that I forgot red stains pretty badly so after cleaning most of it, I got fresh acetone and really cleaned my cleanup brush then kind of went over everything again to get rid of the red. Still not too bad.

Coincidentally yesterday was the Season premiere of Dexter, which I was super excited for, I had also always wanted to do a blood splatter mani after the show so it worked out perfectly. On a non nail note here is a pic of one of our dogs, Dexter, yes we named him after a serial killer, what can I say I'm a fan...
We rescued him from the pound a year ago in July and he's been spoiled rotten ever since...

Every time he is laying all cute and I try to take a pic he moves, so I held him down for a second to get the picture.
Ok enough talk about my tv habits and my rotten doggie , onto the nails...

Used:
base coat
Opi- My Boyfriend Scales Walls 2 perfect coats (this has become my favorite white)
For the "blood"
Wet N Wild Wild Shine- Red Red
All Topped with Seche Vite.

I just used a normal drinking straw, I have heard that using different sizes will give you a different look, I'm happy with how these turned out.
